No two students take the same path into nursing. At Mid-State Technical College, that flexibility is built into the program with the 1+2+1 pathway.
Students in the 1+2+1 pathway can earn their bachelor of science in nursing while gaining hands-on experience. They begin at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, continue their second and third years at Mid-State, and then return to complete their degree. After completing their time at Mid-State, students are eligible to take the NCLEX licensure exam and begin working as registered nurses.
Others choose the LPN or Paramedic Bridge programs, bringing real-world experience back into the classroom. These pathways allow working professionals to advance their careers while building on the skills they already have. After completing bridge coursework, students move directly into core nursing classes.
“I needed a program that allowed me to keep working while moving forward,” a student shared. “This pathway made that possible.”
Students in the traditional four-semester program value the structure and accessibility Mid-State offers. With classes available across multiple campuses, they can stay close to home while completing a focused, hands-on program.
No matter the path, students share a common experience. They gain hands-on training, learn from supportive instructors, and build a clear path to their future careers.
By offering multiple entry points and flexible options, Mid-State expands access to nursing education and helps students reach their goals.
