GED & HSED Preparation

Our GED and HSED preparation options give you a clear path to earning your high school credential. We help you choose the option that fits your academic level and life situation, then support you as you work toward completion.

You can prepare for any of the following pathways:

  • GED – Earn a test-based high school diploma.
  • HSED 5.05 – Complete GED requirements, plus health, career awareness, and employability skills.
  • HSED 5.06 – Earn required high school credits in English, Social Studies, Math, Science, and Health.
  • HSED 5.07 – Earn 24 post-secondary credits, including one in each core subject.
  • HSED 5.08 – Use a foreign diploma or degree to meet credential requirements.
  • HSED 5.09 – Complete a state-approved program built around the skills expected of high school graduates.

College Plus Program

The College Plus program offers a powerful opportunity: earn a college credential and your high school equivalency diploma at the same time. With College Plus, you can move toward a technical diploma or associate degree while completing GED/HSED requirements—all with personalized support.

Who Can Enroll in College Plus?

You may qualify for the College Plus program if the following are true for you:

  • 18.5 years or older.
  • Do not have a high school credential or did not graduate from an accredited high school.
  • Want to enroll in an eligible Mid-State program and apply for financial aid.
  • Demonstrate college readiness by passing the Ability to Benefit (ATB) Accuplacer or completing six college credits.

What Is the ATB Accuplacer?

The Ability to Benefit Accuplacer is a basic reading, writing, and math assessment. Federal financial aid requires passing scores for students without a high school credential.
