Mid-State’s Testing Services support students and community members at every stage of their academic and professional journey. From course placement and high school equivalency testing to certification exams and community proctoring, our Testing Center team is here to help you understand your options and take the next step with confidence.
Core Testing Services
Course Placement
Course placement testing helps ensure you start in classes that match your current skills and support your success. Placement decisions are based on a review of your assessment results, transcripts, and academic goals. Not all students need to test—our team will guide you through what’s required in your situation.
GED® / HSED Testing and Support
Mid-State provides GED® and High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) testing for individuals working toward completing their high school credential. Academic Learning Center staff can help you understand eligibility, testing options, and next steps. Get started with an orientation.
Accommodated Testing
Students who qualify for accommodations may receive approved testing accommodations to ensure equal access during exams. Testing Services works closely with Accessibility Services to coordinate accommodations such as extended time, separate testing spaces, or assistive technology.

CLEP Testing
College credit for prior learning through the College-Level Examination Program.
DSST® Getcollegecredit.com
Credit by exam for learning acquired outside the traditional classroom in a variety of subject areas.
Community Exam Proctoring
Proctoring services for non–Mid-State exams, including online and paper-based tests.
Certiport®
Certification exams for business, technology, and workforce credentials.
ASE – Prometric Certification
Automotive Service Excellence certification exams.
Pearson VUE®
Industry-recognized certification exams for IT, healthcare, and professional fields as well as Mid-State’s apprenticeships.
