Mid-State Technical College is seeking accreditation by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) for its upcoming Dental Hygienist program. The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Mid-State has submitted an application for accreditation, which indicates the institution has entered into the accreditation process; it does not mean that the program is accredited. Mid-State will not enroll students until accreditation is granted. Accreditation is granted only by CODA.

Mid-State Technical College’s Dental Hygienist program is scheduled to be site‐visited by CODA on February 3 and 4, 2026.

The United States Department of Education (USDE) procedures require accrediting agencies to provide an opportunity for third-party comment, either in writing or at a public hearing (at the accrediting agencies’ discretion) with respect to institutions or programs scheduled for review.

Third-party comments relative to the Commission’s accredited programs may include comments submitted by interested parties such as faculty, students, program administrators, Commission consultants, specialty and dental‐related organizations, patients, and/or consumers.

All comments must be submitted to coda@ada.org and be received no later than December 3, 2025. Comments must pertain only to the standards for the particular program or policies and procedures used in the Commission’s accreditation process.

Signed or unsigned comments will be accepted, however names will be removed from comments prior to forwarding them to the College. A copy of the appropriate accreditation standards and/or the Commission’s policy on third‐party comments may be obtained by contacting the Commission at coda@ada.org or by calling 1.312.440.4653. The Commission’s web address is https://www.ada.org/en/coda.
