Why Health & Wellness Promotion?

Health and wellness professionals help individuals and communities live healthier, more active lives. In this program, you will learn how to design and implement programs that promote well-being, prevent illness, and encourage lifelong healthy habits. You’ll gain a strong foundation in exercise science, nutrition, and health education to prepare for this growing and impactful field.

Carrie Jarosinski, AAS, BSN, MSN, DNP
Dr. Jarosinski earned her doctor of nursing practice degree in systems leadership from Walden University. A nurse by trade, she has worked with older adults in long-term care and the maternal child health population in public health. To keep her skills current she participates in local and national population health-focused boards and coalitions and maintains her wellness practitioner certification through the Wellness Alliance.

Employers will expect graduates of this program to be able to:

  • Provide evidence-based health and wellness direction to individuals and organizations.
  • Design, develop, and implement health and wellness promotion activities and campaigns.
  • Champion behavior modification interventions to promote sustainable health and wellness.
